Frameless Motor Technology: What, Why and Where It's Ideal

Although housed motors are effective for many applications, they also have limitations: increased size of housing, compliance and torque reduction. Frameless motors provide a solution. In a frameless motor, the rotor and stator of the motor are built directly into the machine with no housing. This construction enables the motor to drive the load directly, maximizing torque. Frameless motors result in significantly smaller devices. They can be used to realize unique configurations, making them a favorite solution for robotics, medical devices, and more.
