Printed circuit boards provide a means to electrically connect and support electronic components. They are comprised of conductive tracks, pads, and additional features etched from laminated sheets of copper and a non-conductive substrate. They may be single, double, or multi-sided, with each providing a related number of copper sheets and the last involving both inner and outer ones. Multi-sided options deliver higher component density, but all three include conductors and vias that allow for connection of individual components.
The power supply and interconnectivity components of a PC board can be easily integrated with drives and amplifiers, with an enclosure providing protection.
