Business Unit/Business Development Manager (Servo Motors)

This is a supervisory leadership position. The Business Unit Manager is responsible for all activities within WITTENSTEIN cyber motor and is responsible for growing the business within the expectations of the organization.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  • Interface with customers, supporting proposal development and monitoring margin    contributions
  • Develop sales organization and support development of sales plans and strategies    with guidance for sales and support in terms of resources and budgets
  • Direct the business into new market areas and drive new technology development
  • Support planning, preparation and updates of sales forecasts
  • Prepare budgets and maintain plan for operating costs
  • Hold authority for marketing activities related to WITTENSTEIN cyber motor and work with Marketing to ensure WITTENSTEIN cyber motor is a continued market presence including advertising, promotion planning, etc.
  • Ensure products are supported through the lifecycle of the projects/products
  • Develop and measure Balance Scorecard objectives and take actions to
  • meet targets, present information in management reviews and board meetings
  • Provide appropriate administration for budgeting, monitoring, reporting, communication and liaison both internally, externally and globally
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to make decisions and direct the business unit
  • Knowledge of marketing, business strategy and sales initiatives
  • Knowledge of finances with respect to budget planning, profitability etc.
  • Ability to interact with executive levels internally and externally within North America and Germany
  • Knowledge of technical details of the products; familiarity with Controls
  • Dynamic builder of relationships with internal and external customers
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CRM and SharePoint for use in daily activities

Minimum Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’ degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Masters or MBA degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required; or equivalent working experience
  • Five (5) years of sales experience in the servo motor/servo systems industry
  • Five (5) to Eight (8) years working experience in a sales leadership role to direct and guide sales engineers, representatives, and distributors
  • Five (5) years of working experience with CRM and reporting tools to monitor the sales performance
