The Onstott Group has been retained to recruit an experienced and exceptionally well-qualified Senior Principal Electrical Engineer for a leading innovator in motion control and automation technology.  Our Client’s innovations have made them a leading provider of automation solutions to companies the world over.  The products are on the space shuttle and in the laboratory that help people breathe and sequence DNA.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

The new Senior Principal Electronic Engineer will help design the next generation of ASIC and FPGA-based intelligent motion control systems.  These products will dramatically increase the performance and reliability of the Company’s client's robotic, medical, and industrial products.  The ideal candidate is a brilliant designer, creative thinker, great communicator, and naturally curious.

This position combines a number of design skills including ARM-based ASIC design, FPGA design, analog and power-based design.  In this position he or she will work directly with the VP of Engineering and have the chance to play a fundamental role in redefining the motion control and robotics technology of the future.  The Company is a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and offers strong opportunities for advancement and career growth.

Minimum Skills & Abilities


Minimum Education & Experience

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering.
  • 8 to 15 years digital & analog circuit design experience.
  • Extensive FPGA & ASIC design experience.
  • Analog design experience.
  • C language programming experience.
  • Switching power drive, MOSFET/IGBT circuit design experience a plus.
  • CE & UL certification experience a plus.
  • EMI/noise minimization design experience a plus.
  • Motor control experience a plus.
