Precision motion control in automation systems often relies on electromagnetic direct drive (3-phase) linear and rotary motors. Nano-meter level precision motion control and high-speed actuation can be achieved with these technologies. Applications of electromagnetic direct drives are in air bearing motion systems, MagLev-Stages, Voice Coil Actuators, Torque Motor- driven positioners and Hexapod-6 axis motion and positioning platforms.
