Parker Electromechanical Division releases XFC Series — Extreme High-Force Electric Cylinder

Parker Hannifin - Motion Systems Group

XFC Series electric cylinderThis electric cylinder features roller screw drive technology, making it an extremely high-thrust force product, packaged in an industrially hardened steel frame.

Irwin, PA – Parker’s Electromechanical Automation Division, a leading supplier of motion control technology, is pleased to announce the release of the XFC Series electric cylinder.

Parker’s latest addition to the electric cylinder family of products serves to further extend the performance range and, when aligned with the ETH product line, it creates one of the most feature-rich and application-optimized product offerings on the market today.

The secret of the XFC lies in the integrated roller screw technology, which utilizes planetary rollers in place of the ball bearings used in ball screw products. The advantage of planetary rollers is that they provide a far greater number of contact surfaces between the thread of the screw and the internal threads of the roller nut. This equates to higher overall load capacities, higher speeds, and shock loading capabilities. Spanning six different frame sizes, the XFC can support a maximum thrust load of up to 80,000 lbs. This thrust capability, coupled with an all-steel frame based on standard metric hydraulic cylinder construction, provides a virtually seamless migration from hydraulic to full electrometrical motion and delivers a cleaner and more energy-efficient solution overall with dramatically increased levels of control.

With a wide range of standard configurable options, as well as customizable solutions, the XFC is designed to solve today’s most challenging applications.

XFC Extreme Force Electric Cylinder features:

  • 6 frame sizes: 75, 90, 115, 140, 165 & 190mm
  • Metric tie-rod hydraulic cylinder design
  • All-steel construction
  • Roller screw drive
  • Anti-rotate option
  • Inline and parallel motor mount options
  • Maximum thrust: 80,000 lbs
  • Maximum stroke: 2m (79 in)
  • Maximum speed: 40 in/sec
  • Maximum acceleration: 2 G
  • Duty cycle: 100%
