Curtiss-Wright Acquires Skyquest Systems
PARSIPPANY, N.J. - Curtiss-Wright Corp., which makes motion control products for military and commercial use, said Monday it acquired Skyquest Systems Ltd. for 10 million pounds sterling ($16.2 million).
Curtiss-Wright said the Basildon, England, supplier of aircraft video displays, recorders and other equipment will become part of its motion control segment.
"Skyquest's engineering expertise and advanced product offerings in video monitoring and recording, as well as their strong European presence, will significantly expand Curtiss-Wright's ability to provide mission-critical solutions to customers worldwide," Curtiss-Wright Chairman and CEO Martin R. Benante said in a statement.
The company will generate an estimated $8 million in 2009 sales, Curtiss-Wright said.
Shares of Curtiss-Wright rose 57 cents to $30.72 in morning trading.
