(posted 10/19/2009) UXBRIDGE, MA – OCTOBER 15, 2009 – Lenze-AC Tech employees raise $500 for Alternatives Unlimited, Inc. in Whitinsville MA. Instituting a casual dress Friday with a difference, Lenze-AC Tech Customer Service Manager, Christine Clancy and Production Manager, Michele Dauphinee, provided employees with a wonderfully easy ‘give back’ opportunity – Lenze-AC Tech employees who wanted to take advantage of the casual dress alternative were asked to contribute one dollar to the Casual Friday Fund. “We were excited with the support and generosity of our employees”, says Christine, “The simple act of dressing down in exchange for a dollar donation leaves everyone feeling good”. “And you can’t beat the increase in production”, adds Michele, who comments, “employees just feel (and work) better in a favorite pair of jeans”. Both Clancy and Dauphinee agree that the Casual Friday Fund gives a whole new meaning to the term “Dress for Success”. The first recipient is a local non-profit organization, Alternatives Unlimited, that provides residential and vocational services of the highest quality to people with developmental and psychiatric disabilities. Its mission is to provide the necessary skills and support so that each person may lead a satisfying life in the setting of his or her choice with the maximum use of community networks. At its core, Alternatives Unlimited offers the three basic things that make life worth living: a real job, a real home and real relationships. Samantha Masterson, Director of Development at Alternatives Unlimited, gracefully accepted the donation, expressing the gratitude of Alternatives employees, volunteers and individuals served. “Donations fund crucial programming needs at Alternatives, such as furnishings and adaptive equipment, as well as health and wellness initiatives”, explained Samantha, adding, “We serve 1000 people in 55 programs throughout Central Massachusetts”.
